You absolutely hit the nail on the head!! Last night I was having a conversation with my aunt and we were talking about these exact same things. We have a church full of false white allies who think they have arrived. The trickiest part is it’s so much easier to call out conservatives than these false allies. because they do have some superficial relationships with people of color, they often have one or two persons of color that they go to to justify their racist behavior when and if they are called out. Once their behavior has been validated by another person of color, it “cancels out” the original call out for them, relegating it to a difference of opinion.
